Precisely Engineered Nanomaterials
Nanomaterial Properties
Cerion Nanomaterials specializes in a broad class of inorganic nanomaterials spanning metals, metal oxides and ceramics – with a wide degree of precision control over the design of the nanoparticle’s size and technical attributes. This specialization is further extended to include unique compositions such as alloys, core / shells and doped nanoparticles.
Inorganic nanomaterials have unique and advantageous properties that can be leveraged across a range of product types, including functional coatings, catalysts, additives, conductive inks and antimicrobials. Below are a few examples of the different properties and functionalities that nanomaterials can achieve or enhance in industrial products or applications. This is not a comprehensive list.
- Alumina: Abrasion resistant, anti-reflective, flame retardant, strength
- Ceria: Catalyst, UV absorbing/protecting
- Iron Oxide: Catalyst
- Silica: Abrasion resistant, hardness, scratch-resistant, strength, water and/or dirt repelling
- Silver: Anti-microbial, catalyst, electrically conductive
- Titania: Anti-microbial, high refractive index, moisture absorbent, photocatalytic, self-cleaning, strength, UV absorbing/protecting, water and/or dirt repelling
- Tungsten Carbide: Abrasion resistant, catalyst, hardness, scratch-resistant, strength
- Zinc Oxide: Abrasion resistant, anti-microbial, photocatalytic, self-cleaning, strength, UV absorbing/protecting, water and/or dirt repelling
